As you may know, the standard BMW satnav requires updating via USB. However, to get the data into the USB drive you need to download BMW update manager. This is only available for PC, and I am one of the many who has a mac. I pointed this out to Connected Drive customer services and they suggested I go to my BMW dealership who would happily do it for me.

The service guy hadn't got a clue. First he tried to sell me an update for £120. Then he looked baffled when I explained that already had the activation code and the service booked till 2018. He then explained that it's done automatically over the air. I explained that I had the business sat nav that doesn't do this. Then he got someone else to come and tell me they'd do it for a price. I suggested they might be able to do it (i.e plug in a usb stick and leave it for an hour) while their bodyshop was fixing my alloy - to no avail.
